ORIGIN

Cloudy Earth is a response to my son asking me, 'What is the Earth?'. I decided to use the internet to show him a nice app of the answer. The pictures I got back were not suitable for a three year old. A geopolitical map is an adult concept does not answer the question of the child anymore. A geographic map does, but is rather dull. A simple blue green sphere is overly simplistic. The main problem is that all these interpretations are static and dead. The Earth is vibrant and alive.

So I decided to make one myself. I had only one problem; I have never coded an app. Luckily Android studio is free and the internet can answer any question I could have; so I worked at it in my spare time. After an inappropriate amount of swearing for a parent, I got what I wanted - dynamic clouds. I decided I also wanted some additional features like the aurora, seasons, and changing ocean levels.

So I hope you like it. I find it relaxing and pretty and hope you do too. Thank you.
